Keys
- Information with regard to the Key Lock Box and combination for the dates you will be staying will be provided to you by email the week before your
arrival. If for some reason you find you have not received the information by this time (the only reason we can think of would be if you changed your
email address), please be sure to contact us so we may give this information to you.
- Any problems call Brent at 604-841-5806 (on site 2-4 days per week) or Kathleen at 604-841-5805.
Opening
- Adjust the thermostats and turn on the ceiling fan for faster heat distribution.
- There is a separate thermostat in the bathroom.
- The exhaust fan in the bathroom is programmed to come on for 15 minutes 5 times a day for humidity control so don't automatically blame your partner for leaving it on!
- Put Moondance on the CD player, take the deck chair cushions onto the porch, sit, take a deep breath... and... begin... to... relax.
- After you have relaxed read on.
Important Stuff
- Moon Dance plumbing is on a septic system so it is very important that the only thing going down the toilet is toilet paper and your bodily excretions.
No paper, no sanitary napkins, no food stuff, no objects and no chemicals that could kill our much appreciated buddies the micro-organisms!! Remember, once our
buddies are done everything eventually gets pumped up hill to the septic field and sprayed out holes 1/8 inch in diameter. So thank you for not plugging the system!
- Please be good neighbours and keep all volumes down. Normal conversations can be heard clear across Oyster Bay so try not to share your conversations or
music with everyone on the Bay.
- Moon Dance is on a long narrow 4.5 acre dog leg lot which extends from the pavement, across the common lane with the neighbours, and down to the water.
Our frontage is 112 feet so we ask that you respect our neighbour's privacy and not stray far beyond either side of the Cabin above the high tide mark. Of course
mucking about in Oyster Bay below the high tide mark is greatly encouraged. Check out the dozens of local trails and other activities as well.
- If you decide to rent a kayak or canoe, or bring your own, remember that Oyster
Bay is a drying tidal basin so keep track of your tides or you'll be dragging the kayak home! Please be careful, be safe!!
- Bring a cell phone if getting away from it all doesn't include no phone contact. Telus, Clearnet and Rogers mobility have been used on site.
- Try the tap water. Our well is 375 feet deep and the water is glacial blue and very tasty. The flow is excellent for your needs but we ask that you be
conscious of waste.
- Please don't feel the need to spend your time cleaning, however, if you have a spill just use water and one of the orange cloths, located under the kitchen
sink, in the shower stall, and by the soaker tub. Please do not use anything but water when cleaning the floors or any other
surfaces. If you have a spill on the furniture, you'll find the Folex under the kitchen sink.
- You will find extra kitchen linens, laundry supplies, toilet paper and paper towels in the cupboard.
- If you go swimming in Oyster Bay, please be sure to use the beach towels located in the closet. Thank-you.
Closing
- Set the thermostats to 10 degrees.
- Turn off the ceiling fans.
- Close all windows.
- Turn off all Audio Visual units.
- Move the deck chairs back to the window wall of the porch and leave the cushions inside on the kitchen chairs to dry.
- Check all taps are closed, toilet is not running and dishwasher, washer and dryer are finished their cycles and shut off.
- Turn off all lights except the exterior floods.
- Return the keys to the lock box by the kitchen window.
Have a safe drive home. We hope you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your comments and seeing you again at Moon Dance.
